OBITUARY
William "Billy" Penny

William "Billy" E. Penny, 87 years old of Marion, IL, passed away on April 16, 2022, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born January 17, 1935, in Vandalia, IL. Bill was the son of Virgil and Bernice Penny.

Bill was a truck driver and retired from General Transfer of Decatur, IL after 31 years. He loved all things that had wheels. He enjoyed Mod Lite Racing and Micro Midgett cars at the Southern Illinois Raceway, riding his Tri Glyde Harley Davidson and RV camping. He was a member of the Hog Chapter motorcycle group where they would tell stories, go out to eat, and participate in planned rides. He loved to fish and hunt for pheasant, squirrel, and deer. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Decatur, IL.

He is survived by his son, Wendell (life partner, Betty Beaudion) Penny; his daughter, Peggy Penny; his son, Jeffrey (wife, Alice) Penny; his sister, Virginia Thompson; and his life partner Lou Manus; along with grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Carolyn Sue Penny; his wife DeLora Penny; and the mother of his children, Lily Penny.

There will be a time of visitation for family and friends on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 10:00AM-12:00 PM at Binkley-Ross Funeral Home located at 1702 West Boulevard Street in Marion, Illinois. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Marion, IL. The family would like to express a special thanks to the entire Black Diamond Harley Davidson Family.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to The Wounded Warrior Project or the Honor Flight. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
