Cody .

Cody came to live with the Shafer family in 2003 when Brianna was just 4 years old. Brianna's mom, Stephanie, was so scared for her to ride him, but she was not afraid. Cody proved to be a loving and loyal horse and was so good to Brianna through the years. They quickly became close friends and he really trusted her. As she got older and her little sister, Carlie came along, she fell in love with his charming personality and his gentle giant ways, too. Everyone that knew Cody fell in love with him. He had become a well-loved, lucky old horse living out his days enjoying the green grass and blue skies. Unfortunately, Cody passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, with his family surrounding him. He will be missed by all that knew him. The family would like to thank the Norris family for all their help and support throughout the years, helping care for him and letting him live on their farm. Their kindness does not go unnoticed.

The voice said it’s time to let you go you’ve earned your wings…fly free.

They didn’t let me argue I had no choice you see, heaven needs another Angel … and you were on loan to me.

My heart is yours to take with you, you always knew it best. Keep safe the memories that that we’ve shared, our love will do the rest.

Now I listen for the wind to blow, wherever that may be. I hear your voice in it’s whisper, and take comfort…I know an Angel speaks to me.
