Blanca "Leticia" (Hernandez) Sanchez

Blanca “Leticia” Sanchez, 68 years old of Marion, Illinois passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side.  Leticia was born on September 21, 1954, in Acambaro Guanajuato, Mexico.  She was the daughter of Gabriel Sanchez de la Vega and Ramona Hernandez.  She married Roberto Villazon Sanchez and together they had three children, Karen Villazon-Carbajal, Roberto Villazon- Sanchez, and Jose “Antonio” Villazon- Sanchez.

She graduated from the university and later became an elementary school teacher in Mexico, teaching 6th grade children.  She was faithful and consistent in her prayers, a devout woman of Catholic faith.  She loved to dance and read books.  She enjoyed watching soap operas, documentaries, medical and crime television.

Leticia relocated to the United States with her family in September 1999. She attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Carbondale, Illinois. Her family describes her as “an angel on earth”.  She was dedicated to loving and taking care of her family well.  She adored her grandchildren. They were the absolute joy of her life.

She leaves behind her children, Karen Villazon-Carbajal (Nolvin Carbajal, whom she loved like a son), Roberto Villazon-Sanchez, and Jose “Antonio” Villazon-Sanchez (Hannah Villazon-Sanchez); her grandchildren Miguel, Isabella, and Rylan Villazon-Sanchez, Karolina, and Logan Villazon-Carbajal, and Cruz Villazon-Sanchez; five of her siblings Irma Guadalupe, Raquel, Javier, Sandra, and Claudia (Chris Lewis).

She is preceded in death by her parents and three siblings Marisela, Malu, and Gabriel.

Her family will hold private services for Leticia at a later date.
